Golden Tetra
Hemigrammus rodwayi

The Golden Tetra is a species of small freshwater fish in the family Characidae. The species is native to slow moving rivers, tributaries and floodplain lakes in Peru, Brazil, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana. They have an iridescent gold coloration on their body that changes with the angle of light reflection. Adult females are more rounded in the belly than males. These tetras are best kept in groups of at least 6, ideally with other South American species, in an established planted aquarium. Water conditions: 24-28°C (75-82°F), ph 5.5-7.0, 1-12°H.
