Bruges

Bruges is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium. The historic city centre is a prominent World Heritage Site of UNESCO. Bruges received its city charter in 1128. The architecture of the city, from the Middle Ages until modern times, is principally characterized by brick Gothic. Because of its canals Bruges is sometimes referred to as “The Venice of the North”.
