Gauja


The Gauja is one of the longest rivers in Latvia, with a length of 452km (281mi) and a catchment area of 8,900 square km (3,400 sq mi). The beautiful sandstone rocks on the banks of the Gauja and its adjoining rivers started formation before 370-300 million years during the Devonian era. The river flows into the Baltic Sea north east of Riga.
