Poland is a country in Central Europe, and has a population of 38 million. The country has seven land borders: with Lithuania which runs for 104km, with Belarus (418km), Slovakia (541km), Ukraine (535km), Russia (210km), Germany (467km) and Czech Republic (796km). Poland began to form into a recognizable unitary and territorial entity around the middle of the 10th century. Kraków, Toruń, Zakopane, Wrocław, Gdansk, Poznań and the capital, Warsaw, are famous tourist spots in Poland.
