Grampian Mountains

The Grampian Mountains are composed of granite, gneiss, marble, schists and quartzite. The mountains occupy a considerable portion of the Scottish Highlands in northeast Scotland. Ben Nevis, the highest (1,344 metres above sea level) mountain in the British Isles, is located at the western end of the Grampian Mountains.
